University of Phoenix

The University of Phoenix has no information about its graduates. The reason is, most students either fail or drop out of their program of study before graduating.

The University of Phoenix only operates to make a dollar! They don't care if you drop out or fail a class or have to repeat a class because the instructor went missing. They simply do not care about the quality of education they provide to their students. If you fail a class, that's good news for them because, they will still get paid the full amount for tuition and resource fee costs'. If you drop a class, that's still good news for them because, they will still get paid either the full amount or a portion of the ridiculous $1500.00 dollars, the cost of one class. Again, this university only operates to make a dollar!

The University of Phoenix doesn't provide job placement services because nobody wants to hire University of Phoenix graduates. If companies actually did hire University of Phoenix graduates, then the university could allocate a percentage of its $7 billion dollar revenue to offer graduates job placement assistance. Hence, this is one of the main reasons why the University of Phoenix doesn't post information regarding graduate statistics and how many graduates are able to find employment in their field of study with their University of Phoenix degree. The percentage of University of Phoenix graduates able to find work in their field of study is a dismal 2 - 8%, which is very low, especially for a student body of 400,000+ undergraduate and graduate students. If the University of Phoenix did have a higher percentage rate of graduates able to find work in their field of study with their University of Phoenix degree, clearly, it would post such information on its web site (http://www.phoenix.edu), like the majority of state public and private colleges and universities.

You can call an enrollment counselor at 866-766-0766 and ask them what companies hire University of Phoenix graduates and the enrollment counselor won't give you a name of at least one company.

So, this is fraud at its finest! Students that do graduate don't get hired. Students who are educationally incompetent to complete a course because they either fail or drop out before the course is over, aren't getting any special treatment either because they failed. But, the University of Phoenix still got paid.

The University of Phoenix earned $7 billion dollars in revenue over a period of 8 years, from 2002 - 2010. How did they manage this figure? Easy! By enrolling students who are so stupid, that these students easily fail their classes or drop out, whichever comes first. That's all that matters to the University of Phoenix, enrolling students who are so dumb, so that they can make a profit!

I went through their online courses about three years ago. I did finish. Maybe they aren't the best school but surely I can take what I learned and apply it in the workforce. Am I UOP? No. I am one individual striving for her dreams. Something about your article makes it sound like you are saying all UOP grad students are stupid. I am not stupid. Of course, maybe they should just not allow private colleges and make everything only available in the public sector. And if this school did commit some kind of fraud, then why haven't they been called on it. Someone needs to go to prison.
