University of Phoenix Human Resources Information
73University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix is a huge education scam! This is education fraud at its finest!
The University of Phoenix employs a ridiculously high employee and faculty turnover rate. Their human resources department is trying to hide all the fraud that's taking place within the organization itself from current employees and active faculty. Once an employee or faculty "opens their mouth" about the fraud that's taking place internally, they get fired and their employment with the university is immediately terminated.
I can't imagine how this organization manages to hide the fact from currently employed enrollment counselors that the University of Phoenix recently lost a whistle-blower lawsuit and two of its former enrollment counselors each made $9.5 million dollars a piece. That's like winning the lottery if you work for the University of Phoenix as an enrollment counselor! Mary Hendow and Julia Albertson, two former enrollment counselors for the University of Phoenix Sacramento Campus, both earned a whopping $9.5 million dollars each for "blowing the whistle," claiming that the more students they enrolled who were "dumb as doornails," their salaries increased by more than 70%. So, not only did these two ex-employees get paid reasonably well at the University of Phoenix Sacramento Campus for de-frauding students who were "dumb as doornails," they also hit the retirement package of earning $9.5 million dollars on December 20, 2009.
The faculty at the University of Phoenix cannot change or alter the syllabus to incorporate new or additional learning material. The University of Phoenix handles all the instruction that will take place in their online or ground campus classrooms and the faculty have no say. Faculty members either stick to the "corporate" rules of what they are forced to teach or they get fired! To prove this further, there are so many faculty that come and go that the University of Phoenix doesn't want to post information about its faculty on its web site, http://www.phoenix.edu. And why? Simply because, changing faculty pictures and names all the time would clearly be suspicious, I mean, let's say for example, Michael Allen teaches Psychology 101, and then, after 5 weeks of teaching, he is replaced by Terry Andrews who is then replaced by Teresa Michaels. So, the University of Phoenix would have to update its faculty information for its Psychology 101 class three times in less than 20 weeks.
Then, there's the nightmare that some faculty don't even respond to student concerns in the form either as asking for help or making a general complaint such as, "Where are you instructor? You're not available and I need help!" Faculty are coached "behind the scenes" by the United States Department of Congress to not say anything until the class is over so that either the student fails or drops out, but, the University of Phoenix still gets paid $1500.00 for offering a class in which the facilitator went "missing" and never returned until the class was over. How awesome is that!
Here's the worst part. How can students know if their facilitator is qualified to teach a class if the University of Phoenix doesn't want to post information on its web site about where their facilitators earn their degrees from? Well, we can all guess that University of Phoenix instructors earn their education credentials either from diploma mills like the company they work for, or, from other fraudulent companies that operate as an unaccredited university.

You are absolutely correct. I was an instructor at UoP for six years. The majority of my students could not turn in a correct paper. I spent all of my time trying to explain how to write paragraphs, sentences, etc. I would get 1,500 word papers without any punctuation or capitalization. It was ridiculous. The greatest part was that I was not an English teacher, yet I spent 80% of my time doing this. The people who run the organization are crazy. Faculty has NO say in anything, and faculty is monitored like a hawk to be sure that you do not say or do anything that is not what they have told you to do or say.
If there is a negative article written about the school in the paper, faculty receives emails about how exactly to respond to questions from students. The school spends more time trying to defend their reputation than they do trying to create an excellent learning environment.
The school IS a joke. I was embarrassed to tell anyone that I worked there. Thank goodness I no longer do. Out of the 7 universities and colleges that I have taught for, this by far is the worst of the worst. Do not waste your money!
One more thing: Did you know that many companies have gone on record to state that they will not hire anyone with a degree from the University of Phoenix?
I was fired last week, as I opened a case on a director of enrollment for hostile work environment and questioning his work ethic. I then had employees supposibly opening cases on me and I was let go after the director came and left twice to enlist into the military. Which he never made it. What kind of director does this. Comes and goes twice in less than 1 year and still has a place to call home to a campus director that is dumb as a doornail. When a director is questioned a campus director shuts me up by firing me instead of the director that chooses not to work for her. Dumb dumb.
I worked for the school for advanced studies as an Academic Counselor. There were students who couldn't fill out the application. Her daughter filled it out for her and she was going for a Doctorate in Business. (We let them know and well I’m not there anymore). The entire reason was to defraud the student loan system. We believed the women’s daughter was doing her work and the mom wasn't able to function at the residencies she had to attend. I have a number of degrees with UOP and if I new then what I know now, I would not have spent a dime there. They blow so much money on team building, going bowling, special cafeteria’s movies, baseball games and that was in six months and yet they have no allegiances to the people who bust there butt for them. I was there six months after the 700 count lay offs. There were people who did good jobs fired daily. Yet everyone around them was doing exactly the same thing or less and they are still there. I have a suit against them presently. FYI

Vis, I think you are misguided. I am a current employee and see the dirt everyday.
